What would your one picture be of??

Instead of posting another story of the events in my life, I have decided to share my reflective side and what I feel is one of the most amazing picture of this world. Someone asked me once that if I could only take one picture of something that was among our everyday life, what would it be and why. Without hesitation, I said that it would have to be a picture of an empty baseball diamond. I can sit on the bleachers and stare at an empty ball diamond for hours. Just thinking about it takes me smile. When I see a ball diamond, I see the unlimited possibilities and opportunities, heartaches temporarily placed on hold, and lifelong friendships being built. Since then, I have made it my goal to find other pictures that are just as inspiring. I am happy to now add the amazing picture of sunsets to that short list.

I don't think I've fully appreciated the magical effect sunsets have until I came to Australia. Back in Canada, people are always busy running around to get from one place to another and never stop to appreciate the things created around us. It's really refreshing to see that people here are not as obsessed about making money and do not surround their life around their career. Moving to a new country by myself has allowed me to be more observant and make me appreciate the little things that I had back home.

The sun is quite predictable and so much so that forecasters can tell you the exact time of the sunrise and sunset everyday. However, it looks different everyday. Sunsets gives me a peaceful feeling and it literally feels like the world around me is on pause for that period of time. You could be having the worst day imaginable but when you see that sun setting, it just takes your breath away and somehow gives you hope that things will be better tomorrow. So why not the sun rise?? Well, when the sun rises everyone knows it's up there for the entire day. However, when the sun disappears you have to wait until the next day to see it again. It's like life. You have to wait for your opportunities and when they do come they're not going to be around for very long. Grasp it while you can before you lose it and never see that same opportunity again. So periodically, I will be posting pictures of things that inspired me on that day. So what would want your one picture to be??? Remember it has to be a picture of something easily accessible in our everyday life and try not to choose people. Please post your thoughts (you don't have to be a member to post comments anonymously). I am very curious to hear what you think as this is a question I have always wanted to ask people.

It sounds like you're really settling in Sab :) You're right, everybody needs to slow down and smell the daisies every so often..

Take it easy,

Hey Subs, what you have said is very true, in TO it is always hustling and bustling around, almost like running an endless marathon. It's good to hear that you're enjoying the calm serene life that Australia offers; wish I could join you!
As for your question about the photo.. darn, you had to ruin it by saying it had to be something accessible ;) I was going to mention the grand canyon... or pyramids of egypt.. or under the sea [scuba diving!] :D But to abide by the rules of accessibility... I would say a scenic picture of a forest in its fall season; leaves turning red/yellow/orange...water flowing along a stream... rays of light breaking through between the branches and leaves.... :) Yeh. I sound like I'm describing a wallpaper eh? oh well. haha. It would still leave me a warm fuzzy feeling regardless!

Wishing you the best,
Wendy

Hey Sabrina, great idea!

I think I would take a picture of the great maple tree behind my house. Perhaps when it's turning all those beautifull colours in the fall. It's so majestic - over 100 ft tall with a canopy full of branches and huge leaves, gentle waving in the wind. It represents so many things, rising proudly above the landscape, beating the elements. And I love those maple leaves!! Makes me feel so proud eh ;)
