Earthdance festival
We went down to Pinjarra last weekend, which is about an hour south of Perth, to the Earthdance music festival. It's suppose to promote peace on earth but I was there more for the music. It was pretty cool. It was mainly outdoors in what seemed like the middle of nowhere. The musicians were all local WA singers who are somewhat making a name for themselves in the underground music industry. I've already had CDs of a few of singers that were performing so it was good hearing them live. Since I've been here, I'm appreciating more and more the local talents and broadening up my taste in music. It's almost more impressive watching a local singer create such amazing sounds with the bare minimum than going to watch a whole production with fancy expensive technology.
Becks and I also had the opportunity to learn how to play the African drums. It was fun. I've always wanted to try playing the African drums. Here's a pic of Becks getting ready to play some beats for everyone.
