The wonders of technology!!!
Now I know how people can get so much accomplished without leaving the comfort of their home. The internet is both a saviour and the devil, as I'm sure many of you students out there will agree with me.
In the past few weeks, my goal was to find a basketball league and decide on whether to play baseball or softball this summer. The basketball league was a little difficult to find as no one plays organized basketball here. It's all about netball instead. But I did find one and I'm excited about it because I've really missed playing basketball over the years. It's something about the constant running and making yourself feel winded. The feeling of the ball leaving your finger tips and knowing that it's going to be nothing but net... It's absolutely amazing...It's like the feeling you get when you hit a ball perfectly off the bat.
As for softball, I simply emailed the president of the softball association and she did all the work for me. The very next day I was getting emails from so many different teams in my neighborhood. It was awesome. The best part was that each organization had a website so it made it easy for me to do a little scouting on my potential future team. I had to start cutting some teams so I did what every logically softballer would do: drop all the organizations that required their teams to wear those damn ugly, unattractive, thick baseball pants. Next it came down to team colours and uniform design, which was tough because none of them were that great. They really need a uniform advisor in this country.
My final choice came down to this organization where the president also happened to be the best friend of the women who helped me originally. Wow, talk about karma...The next choice was deciding on the grade to play for. They have 5 different skill level for each age group and I didn't know which skill level I belonged to. She suggested that I try A grade so we'll see how good their top level is here. I haven't played fastpitch in almost a year so it'll be interesting but exciting. Let's play ball!!! It's been just a little over a week since I started my search for a softball team and the offers are still coming in. Who knew there were that many softball teams around here. I feel very lucky to have this many choices. Here's hoping for an enjoyable season...Let's play!!!

Let's Ride!!!
After having my red hot 'Toys R Us' bike stolen from me, I was a little hesistant to buy another one. It's been a few months since the incident and I hadn't really needed it. Things, however, are starting to pick up as the summer is fast approaching. Seems weird that not much happens during the 'winter' when it's still like 20 degrees outside. It did rain quite a bit but still nothing like minus 30/40 degrees outside. I guess it doesn't matter where you are in the world or how warm it really is, winter is winter and people feel sluggish during the winter season.
This past weekend I decided to give in and get a bike. Someone in rez told me about this organized garage sale that happens every Sunday morning. I've been going to quite a few garage sale lately and I think I'm turning into a garage sale junky or something. My housemates probably think I'm either the cheapest or poorest person because the only time I buy something is at garage sales.
Anyways so I get to this garage sale by 7:30am. Yeah I know it's a little early but everyone knows you have to get there early before all the good stuff is gone. To my disappointment, the selection wasn't great and quite slim. There was this one bike that looked fairly new but the guy wouldn't nudge on his original ticket price. So I chose to let it go and try my luck at the next stall. I ended up getting this 21 speed bike for only $45. That's a pretty sweet price but I'm still worried about it because some parts of it is a little rusty. Oh well, as long as it does it's job who cares right? I've never owned a 21 speed bike before. Honestly, I don't really know how the gears work and when you're suppose to use which gear.
